Bluegrass started with old Hymns & Folk songs that were carried over with The Scottish & Irish settlers as they migrated to the Appalachian mountains. They brought songs of the old country to their new Country.

Bill Monroe & His brothers took things to another level and style in the 1940's. He is know as the father of Bluegrass. The music has many styles today the traditional style is that of Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Flatt & Scruggs, Stanley Brothers, Jim & Jessie McReynolds, Osborne Brothers and many others from that era. It has evolved to many styles such as the progressive style known  as New Grass which was started with bands such as the Bluegrass Alliance. Today it is in good hands and growing at a nice pace as younger generations are being introduced to it.

Bluegrass Festivals are now part of our American culture. Bluegrass is being played and heard world wide. Bluegrass is also on Satellite radio 24/7.
